Over these past 2 days, we've wet our feet in Belize City. It was an amazing experience, despite all the warnings of being careful! We attended church on West Street, Church of God, and served with Ms. Sharon
Arthurs. She is a (former)
YWAMer, missionary, passionate woman and feisty fighter for the truth. A men's committee of Belize City along with Ms. Sharon organized a boys conference for Monday and Tuesday. Standard 4, 5 & 6 (grades 6, 7 & 8) boys were invited from various schools to gather and be encouraged as 'men' and the future leaders of Belize. Our
DTS and leading men in the community led these two hour periods with dramas, testimonies and words to stir this next generation of leaders to choose rightly. Kevan Guzman, a student from 2009
DTS, spoke of his positive choice to change his school, change his campus and change Belize- NOT them changing him.
We are proud of this
DTS. They have really stepped up and received God's heart for this city. They amazed us with their skits and jumping at the challenge to encourage young men to stand against the violence and be SOMEONE positive.
We launch from Belmopan on Thursday, Oct. 7th, for our journey to Mexico City. Please be praying for us as we travel and also for one more student's funds. She will be joining us in Mexico when everything comes through, by the grace of God!
