Hola!!32 hours, bare amounts of sleep, AC, peanut butter and jelly, TACOS, some motion sickness and Wayne's flu symptoms put to music....WE'RE HERE!! So happy, couldn't describe the excitement when we got off the bus and stepped on solid ground.
We have two of the most wonderful hosts, Pastor Xavier and Mary Miranda and Iglesia Cristiana Israel. We were met by Megacities coordinators, took taxis to the hosting church and had a warm meal.
We jumped in early on Sunday morning, having breakfast with the church leadership team. We were ecstatic to meet Carrill and Antonio (a VERY YOUNG couple- they're our age, lol). Antonio translated for us as Charles and Omar shared briefly in the church that morning.
Then in the afternoon, we joined a group of hermanos from the church to celebrate Xavier's birthday. It was so great!! Everyone enjoyed themselves and we got to learn more about our new friends and partners.
Our hosts are very mission minded too- they served several years in Oaxaca, Mexico. They have another church plant within the city here and are active in evangelism. Its a blessing- we feel so honored to be sharing this time in Mexico with them!
Tomorrow we will join Megacities groups in the different districts for corporate worship and a time to share testimonies of what God is doing all around the city.
Please pray for team unity and safety as we travel through the city! Also, we are still standing in faith for God to provide $500 usd to complete the D.R. portion of our outreach.
