Summer's a comin'

hey all...
well, this time has been jam packed with some pretty intense views...let me first draw your attention to the beautiful pineapple and red cashew fruit- who would have thought those little cashew nuts come from something as colorful as this...the tropical storm formed off the coast of Belize has brought the brown to green again, including lots of mud. Avocado season will soon arrive, I can't wait.

Summer is coming- all the events ahead:

Schools closing in 3 weeks- we're having a party with the Christian club we formed at "Western Christian Academy" in Ontario Village. The club just presented a drama in the Gospel Arts festival and received 3rd place- we're so proud of them working together...

Joshua Generation (youth group) graduates 4 seniors this year. We're proud and keep dropping hints for these students to continue coming, even though next year they'll be COLLEGE students. We've seen lots of growth in the majority of the students genuinely wanting God in their daily life. Pray that God's love for these young people would be continuely reveled through us.

Discipleship Training School begins July 1st...Omar and I have taken up the directorship of this school. We're so excited and look forward to all God has to teach us. Jason and Sara (last year's directors) will be supervising this transition, supporting us in the handing of the baton.

LYM (Legacy Youth Ministries) will be hosting conferences July 14-19 (ages 13-16) and July 25-27 (ages 17 and up). The theme of the older students will be economics and education based- focusing on the physical future of the students and what career and callings they want to pursue. We are inviting prominent business holders from the community to come and share their wealth as they have pursued and succeeded at their posts...we're looking forward to this time to cast visions for the real future of this nation.
_______

As we look back on this last season, we are so grateful and amazed at God's provision...we've seen Him bless in finances, spiritual encouragement and a real outpouring of His grace.

Sitting with our friends one night, they anxiously awaited to tell us something. We didn't know what to expect- they explained that as they were praying for God to provide a vehicle for us- God spoke to give us their car. We were shocked!!! I, Alyssa, was speechless- that really doesn't happen. For about a month now, we've had the blessing of a vehicle, 95 Geo Prizm. A God send they are, we thank God everytime we enter the car.

The mid of May we were able to attend the YWAM Caribbean conference in the Dominican Republic- it was a refreshing time for us. I, Alyssa, had and incredible time- it was encouragement I needed after struggling for some time about my place here in YWAM. We were able to see the stories that God is making with other nations in the Caribbean. We received some words of encouragement straight from the heart of God. I was blessed and have a new perspective.

Drum roll please....WE CELEBRATED OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY MAY 19TH. It was so sweet to just look back and see how far we've come, how we're able to just laugh things off now and others that we're still working on. Mom sent down pieces of our wedding cake, so we did the official traditon, woohoo!! One of our friends from last year's DTS was explaining how she's only known me as a married person- that freaks me out....Aunt Kim- I know you'll understand!

Love you guys...please keep us updated how you're doing...we'd love to get a line now and then...

Please pray for us this summer...
