¡Hola! Como estas?
Aren´t you guys impressed...I really have learned more Spanish than that...come on!
Our outreach is winding down, tomorrow we leave Mendoza for Santiago, Chile. On Thursday we fly to Guatemala and arrive to Belize border via bus, early morning Friday. It has been a real adventure and we´ve seen God´s reflection so much in the people of Argentina...they´re beautiful.
Our days in the desert were an absolute blessing...we met wonderful families, living in conditions that are far from tipical to us. It is an amazing place and God´s voice is heard so much clearer there...perhaps it was the breath-taking sky or the sand that stretched for miles or the smiling faces and more than giving families that live there. We have been blessed more richly than we could every imagine.
I do want to tell you one story:
On the way to visiting a family, in the park reserve they have in El Campo, the truck we were driving got stuck. The right rear tire started spinning in the soft sand...we were able to dig our way out of that one, only to sink further in the sand two feet ahead on the road. Our intended goal to share with some of the famililies, only a 20 minute drive from where we were staying ended after 4 hours. We drove 2 to 5 feet and would get stuck in yet another sand dune. We collected twigs from the land to add traction to the tires...one of the students joked saying..¨we understand the way of this game.¨ The truck drives 2 feet, gets stuck, we collect sticks from the knarley bushes in the desert, only to push the truck 2 more feet...and repeat the process all over again. It was rather amusing, increased our prayer life and showed the true character of people. Everyone was great...positive attitudes, working together so patiently.
God speaks in these moments...its like we´re never finished depending on God´s grace. His mercy is great and His love is grand. We were so grateful and it was a still moment furiously driving out of that sand pit....
Pray for God´s protection as we travel over these next few days...we´re still open to whatever God wants to speak to us...Please pray for one of our students...his mother died and he´ll be attending the funeral as soon as we arrive in Belize.
thanks for standing with us...
